A branch of red plum, a spray of dark leaves and a heap of peaches set in a row like things on a kitchen table, with a column of running script balancing the composition at the right.
This is the plain, generous kind of flower painting: big shapes, few strokes, color put on straight from the dish. The plum is dotted in over a dry branch, the peaches are two washes each, and the leaves are single loaded strokes of ink. The inscription takes as much space as the fruit, and is meant to.
The long low format sits well above a sideboard, a bed or a run of kitchen cabinets. Its colors are warm and it will hold its own in a room with a lot of wood.
Offered as a decorative painting, made by hand. The inscription and seals are recorded as they appear and are not offered as a record of who painted it.
